The Flex Mechanic position will be filled by a skilled bike mechanic who is comfortable supporting the BT social enterprise bike shop in varied roles. They will work to produce exceptional quality refurbished bikes and mechanical services in our Service Department and provide retail sales and operation support in concert with our Retail Lead. The position may also support scrap recycling operations and inter-shop bike/parts transfers. The ideal candidate will be community-focused, experienced with bike repair and retail sales, and will represent BT’s values and advance BT’s mission to make bicycle transportation, recreation, and mechanics accessible to all. This position can optionally be part-time (at least 3 days / 21 hours per week) or full-time depending on applicant preference. Although initially this role will be a “utility” position, filling various jobs as needed during the shop’s Summer busy season, there is opportunity to take on a specialization towards the mechanic role as the position develops.
