Our 100+ active volunteers offer over 2,500 hours of service to Bikes Together every year! We could not maintain our operations without them. Not only do volunteers support the shop, they help us build a community-centered hub for bikes, riders and everyone in between.
What Volunteers Do

Create a welcoming & empowering learning environment

Repair & recycle donated kids and adults bikes

Assess and sort donated bicycle parts

Break down un-repairable bikes for scrap and recycling

Work with participants to fix their bikes during Learn & Repair and other off-site Bike Repair Clinics

Help community members of all ages learn basic mechanics

Provide outreach support at community events

Clean and organize the shop

Participate on our board or other committees to support organization goals (fundraising, outreach, event support)

How to Apply
Fill out our interest form & attend an orientation
No previous mechanics experience necessary! To apply, complete the interest form. We will be in-touch when there is an available Orientation. All volunteers must attend a New Volunteer Orientation that includes an introduction to the shop, meeting fellow volunteers, and practice with shop tasks.
Note: While we are happy to support folks in need of community service hours, we have a limited number of spots for these volunteers. Please email molly@biketogether.org to see if we have space available. You will still need to attend an orientation.
